Following an evaluation involving relevant ministries / agencies (K / L), the government decided to undertake the development of 222 National Strategic Projects (PSN) expected by the third quarter of 2019 to begin construction.
On the other hand, the government has cut 14 development projects from the National Strategic Project.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution explained that the 222 National Strategic Projects consist of 69 road projects, 51 dams, 29 special economic / industrial / tourism areas, 11 energy projects, 10 ports, 8 water and sanitation projects, 6 airports 6 irrigation projects, 6 smelter projects, 4 technology projects, 3 housing projects, 1 agriculture and marine project, 1 sea dike project, 1 educational project, 1 airplane program, and 1 agrarian and forestry program.
“The estimated investment value is more than Rp4,100 trillion,” Darmin told reporters after attending a Limited Meeting at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Monday (4/16) afternoon.
The dropped from the National Strategic Project group, according to the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, included the construction of the Jambi-Palembang railway project, the construction of the East Kalimantan provincial railway, the regional water supply system of Mebidang (Medan-Binjai-Deli Serdang) of North Sumatra, the Pelosika dam in Southeast Sulawesi, and the special economic area of Merauke.
“The total value of projects dropped from the National Strategic Program is Rp264 trillion,” Darmin said.
Regarding the project criteria included in the National Strategic Program with the project being dropped, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution stated that if the project would not have physical development, construction would not start physical construction in the third quarter of 2019 it would be considered not forwarded or dropped.
“If dropped does not mean that the age will be dropped, if it is prepared again, it is okay to submit it,” Darmin said, emphasizing, the evaluation results are with the criteria that a National Strategic Project will be maintained if there is physical development, third quarter 2019.
Based on the evaluation results, according to Darmin, of all existing National Strategic Projects that will be completed until the third quarter of 2019 as many as 48 projects (completed 100%).
As for those who have built, just started to operate, not yet 100% effective operation but has started to operate is 94 projects and 1 electrical program. Then 86 projects plus one program about the aircraft industry, will start construction but will begin to operate in 2019.
Darmin added that of the 222 projects submitted to the National Strategic Program of 2018, there are two new projects, one project of the International Islamic University of Indonesia, proposed by the Minister of Religious Affairs.
Then the second is the economic equity program in which there is about land certification, social forestry, agrarian reform, and people’s plantation rejuvenati.
