A total of 78 Venues and 14 Non Venue prepared as facilities and infrastructure of Asian Games XVIII Year 2018 in Jakarta, South Sumatra and West Java.
Of these 33 Venue will be used for matches and training and 10 buildings / arrangement of the area done by the Ministry of Public Works and People’s Housing.
“To support the 2018 Asian Games, the PUPR Ministry is tasked with building and rehabilitating venues. For the progress is almost complete, no later than June 2018, “said Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono who is also Chairman of the Field of Facilities and Infrastructure Asian Games XVIII some time ago.
Minister Basuki said the PUPR Ministry has completed all venues in Gelora Bung Karno Jakarta complex, venues paddle and shooting range and homestead athletes Kemayoran. Currently being completed venues screen, jetski, squash and martial arts at TMII Jakarta. In Palembang, venues skateboarding is being done.
For the construction of screen venues is done in West Ancol Beach on 13.890 m2 of land and jetski venue at Pantai Indah Ancol on an area of 27,034 m2.
The total contract value for the construction of both venues amounted to Rp172, 57 billion and has begun construction since October 2017. Currently the overall progress has reached 44.3 percent. Both venues are scheduled for completion in June 2018.
Committing Officer of Construction of Venue Jetski and Layar, Eky Arsita Rizky said both venues are equipped with various facilities to support the world-class race.
For vets jetski will be equipped with permanent buildings and docks that are not owned by many other countries. Jobs at the jetski venue include cafeteria and warehouse buildings, office buildings, office buildings, VIP buildings, jetski docks.
“In other countries they usually make jetski and non permanent or temporary match venues, only when there is a match. We built a permanent stand for a capacity of 868 people, managing office, officer room and pit stop like in F1 car race, “said Eky.
The challenge in building the Jetski venue is in constructing wharves and artificial beaches that are one of the requirements of the field of play for jetski. In addition, the arrangement of the area so that the Ancol Coast will be more organized.
Furthermore, for the screen venue, Eki said the facility will be equipped with Floating Breakwater along 220 meters, floating jetty, container parking capacity of 30 containers, slipway, rinse & permanent tap water, porlasi office, workshop and car park area. He explained, for the workshop building will be shaped like a hangar with a high roof to accommodate a high-capacity sailboat with 30 ships.
“This is the first Sailing Center in Indonesia as a maritime country. As per the direction of PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, this facility is not only for use in the Asian Games, but also for the development of water sports in Indonesia, “he said.
