In a series of visits to Indonesia, Wednesday (30/5) afternoon, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi took the opportunity to open an exhibition of Indian kites in Silang Monas, and review the largest mosque in the homeland, the Istiqlal Mosque, located a few hundred meters from the State Palace , Jakarta.
During the visit to Istiqlal Mosque, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), who accompanied PM Narendra Modi, explained about the history of Istiqlal Mosque construction, as well as a number of equipments inside such as kentongan and large drum weighing more than 2 tons.
With the help of the Istiqlal Mosque board, the Indian PM also took time to hit the kentongan and the drum.
Furthermore, the two leaders of the country went on to see another part of the Istiqlal Mosque. While in the yard of the mosque, both take pictures together with the background of Istiqlal Mosque. Then the President shows the inside of the Istiqlal Mosque.
At the end of the review, President Jokowi and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi took a picture together inside the Istiqlal Mosque.

Earlier, President Jokowi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi drove a golf cart to the Silang Monas, and immediately cut the ribbon as a show mark for the kite exhibition.
Both heads of government had seen the kite exhibition. From Indonesia kite motif in the form of character pewayangan typical of Indonesia, and from India pictorial typical Indian Mahabharata character.
Furthermore, President Jokowi and PM Modi opened a curtain containing the 70th logo of India’s relationship with Indonesia.
Then President Jokowi and PM Modi play kites together. President Jokowi flew a kite with an Indian flag motif and inscribed INDIA, while PM Modi flew a kite with the Asian Games logo.
