The rise of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) ranking or ease of effort in Indonesia is appreciated by the United States-US Business Council. This was revealed by Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita after accompanying President Joko Widodo in a meeting with President / CEO of AS-ASEAN Business Council Alexander Feldman at Merdeka Palace on Tuesday (13/03).

“Yes, this is an appreciation of what has been done and the rise of our ease of business ranking. Then they convey some of their commitment to continue to invest, “said Enggartiasto.

As is known, in the “Doing Business 2018” published late October 2017, Indonesia’s ranking rose from position 91 in 2017 to position 72 for 2018.

Alexander Feldman himself said that the US-ASEAN Business Council is a representation of US business in Southeast Asia. His arrival to meet with the President this time is to discuss about the US industry experience in Indonesia widely and things that have changed in recent years.

“Our goal is to help increase investment in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, and work together to promote Indonesia as a US investment destination,” explains Alexander.

According to him, cooperation with Indonesia is a challenge as well as opportunity. It also seeks to comply with the rules and regulations for conducting business conducive.

Meanwhile, Enggartiasto also said that President Joko Widodo said the government will continue to reform the economy and simplify the regulation to increase investment. According to him, the assessment of US businessman Alexander Feldman on improving the rating of business ease in Indonesia and the government’s economic reforms are on a positive track.

“They provide and deliver support and commitment to keep doing and improve their business. (Their perspective on Indonesia) is still very good, “said Enggartiasto.
